A bridal purse is just what it sounds like it is, a purse that a bride carries on her wedding day. Typically, the bride isn't going to carry a purse to the alter, but she will take it with her to the reception. This is especially true of a reception following a Roman Catholic wedding because the guests at this reception will traditionally offer the bride her wedding gift in the form of cash tucked inside an envelope.
