Boxer shorts also known as loose boxers or as just boxers are a kind of underwear worn by men. The word has been used in English since 1944 for all-around-elastic shorts, as a result named after the shorts worn by pugilists, for who unimpeded leg movement is almost as significant as the entirely free arm movement of the bare-chested fighters.
