Scrubs Protection Turns Into Scrubs Fashion

There was a point in time during the history of medicine in which a surgeon would walk into an arena style operating room and literally cut a patient open with non-sterilized operating tools dressed in plain street clothes. Needless to say many operations were not successful and would end in death. This was not necessarily due to poor medical practice; it was due to poor sterilization or opportunistic diseases caused as a result of not performing the surgery in a sterile environment with sterile clothing after a sterile scrubbing.
