The History of Rolex Watches

Rolex is world renown for bestowing elegance and quality. Held by many to be the ultimate luxury watch, the Geneva based watch company started out as a general partnership between James Davis and Hans Wilsdorf. In 1905, came the birth of Wilsdorf and Davis in London's jewelry and watch district. Due to their lack of capital, the idea of importing movements from Aegler in Bienne, Switzerland and assembling them in London, was their only avenue. The duo renamed their watch company Rolex Watch Company Ltd. in 1915.
