A decade ago, denim lovers would joke that their jeans were just getting good when they fell apart. Denim designers cleverly seized the opportunity, and made them good from the 'get go' by applying various washing and finishing techniques. This took the edge of the traditional saturated denim blue, and - all importantly - softened the fabric. In fact, while we might think of silk as a luxury fabric, soft, worn denim is no less luxurious. The denim feel, and comfort, is unique. And, not surprisingly, perhaps, some designers, such as Tommy Hilfigger, have even used denim for bedding.
