2009 MET Costume Institute Gala

Tuesday, May 5th was one of the biggest nights of the year for fashion in New York City. The MET Costume Institute Gala took place and all the A-listers were out in full-force. The theme of the evening was "The Model As Muse: Embodying Fashion" and several notable occurrences happened - Rihanna made her first red carpet debut since the Chris Brown episode, Madonna wore what was, quite possibly, one of the worst ensembles ever, and five women clearly stood out as the best dressed of the evening.
